Come when called and Leave it

These are two of the most important skills your dog will ever learn—and they can truly save a life. This class is designed to take your training beyond the basics and build reliable, real-world responses you can count on.

We will practice recall and leave it in a variety of environments across campus, both indoors and outdoors, gradually increasing difficulty each week. Your dog will learn to respond to you with focus and enthusiasm, even around distractions. We will also combine recall and leave it exercises to strengthen decision-making and impulse control in real-life scenarios.

This class is active, engaging, and a lot of fun for both dogs and handlers, while still focusing on the level of consistency and reliability these skills require.

This is not a beginner class. Dogs must have completed a Foundation Manners class. If you have not trained with us before, we may request a video of your dog demonstrating foundation behaviors prior to approval.

Please do not bring dogs on any all-metal collars, including choke or pinch collars. Harnesses, head halters, regular collars, and martingale collars are all welcome.

Motivation is essential to effective training. Please bring bite-sized, high-value treats to class. Treats your dog enjoys at home may not be valuable enough in a group setting. Favorites include cheese, chicken, hot dogs, and meatballs. Variety is encouraged so you can mix in lower-value treats as needed. If your dog enjoys toys, feel free to bring those as well.

Please bring a long line to class. A 15 ft line is ideal (no more than 20 ft). This is an essential piece of equipment for safely building a strong, reliable recall.

This is a 4 week class held at Scudder Campus in Wimberley, indoors and air conditioned.

If you have not attended class with us before or need a refresher, please watch our theory class on YouTube. You will receive the link after registration. We will cover training basics, equipment, and management techniques to help you get the most out of class.

Important: Registration is per dog. Please only add one person when registering. Multiple people may attend with one dog at no additional charge. Adding additional people during registration will result in additional fees.
